How to play Nostalgia Trivia
Nostalgia Trivia asks about the songs, TV shows, movies, news and everyday life of the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Every question has four answers and only one is right. After each one you get the short story behind the answer, and where it comes from. Play alone, against computer players, or with the family on their own phones and the questions on a TV.
A game
- A game is ten questions (or 15 or 20 in Settings). Pick all the decades, just one, or a holiday under Topic.
- Tap the answer you think is right. There is no clock.
- When everyone has answered, the right answer turns green. If yours was wrong, it turns red.
- Each right answer is one point. The most points wins.
- Not sure? Tap Hint and two wrong answers disappear.
The questions
There are about 250 questions, in four groups: music, TV and movies, news, and everyday life (prices, fads, toys and fashion). Every answer and every story was checked against a published source before it went in. If you think we got one wrong, tell us with "Send feedback" in Settings and we will look it up again. For the holidays there are two extra sets, Thanksgiving and Christmas: the parade, the old songs and the TV specials.
Today's quiz
The Daily Quiz is ten questions from all four decades, the same for everyone today. Count your right answers and see how you did next to everyone else. Share your score without giving away the answers.
Trivia night with family and friends
Choose Play with friends and send the link, or read out the four-letter table code. Everyone answers on their own phone, and nobody sees the others' answers until all are in. To put the questions on a TV for the whole room, open the TV link from the table on the TV's web browser. Open seats are played by the computer.
Questions
How strong are the computers? Easy players know about four answers in ten, Normal about six, and Sharp almost eight. Harder questions trip them up more often.
Do questions repeat? Each game takes questions in a new order. After a few games you will see some again, and we keep adding more.
Do I need an account? No. Your game is saved in this browser, so you can close the page and come back.
